A Week's Update

Today, Baba and I took Zeke to a nearby lodge where they have zebras, monkeys, flamingos, peacocks and other interesting creatures walking all around. Unfortunately, I didn't get any cool animal pictures to share (what was I thinking?!). So you'll just have to trust me, it's a gorgeous place and the food isn't half bad either!

A lot has happened in the past week. I met a wonderful group of mommies (and one daddy) at a new playdate group. I was impressed at how diverse our little bunch was. Jodie, the lady who started the group, is Australian and we have a lot in common (both married to TZ men and have adorable kids!). She has a great sense of humor and I look forward to getting to know her better. Then there was a sweet lady from Mexico (she's essentially my neighbor since I'm from Arizona), a dad from Germany and a Tanzanian doctor lady. All the kids were playing together and we adults had a great time. I look forward to our get together next week.

I've started my new job at the safari company (founded by Gemma Sisia, the lady who also started St Jude's) and I'm really enjoying it so far. Thankfully, Gemma agreed to take me on part-time, since I wanted to be home with the little man while he's still young. So I will be working Monday, Tuesday & Friday each week, and we have found a wonderful housegirl (or 'dada' in Swahili) to care for baby Zeke while I'm working. Martha has quickly proven to be a great investment, and when I got home from work last night, she had already cleaned our entire house and had dinner on the table! I think I could get used to this...

And just because it's so stinkin' cute...
(he loves bathtime now, especially the splashing mommy part!)
