- We've gone through more milestones in 1 year than many couples will in 10 years. We got engaged and found out I was pregnant a couple days later, I went back to the U.S. alone and started the 5 month visa process to bring Edward over, he arrived in August and we got married 1 week later, baby Zeke was born 7 weeks later, Edward completed driving school, Edward got his greencard, Edward started a new job, I started a new job, we worked and lived for 7 months before deciding we were ready to move back permanently, and finally we arrived back in Tanzania!
- Many people say that the first year of marriage is the hardest and I would have to agree. However, if we hadn't had 20 additional life-changing events thrown into the mix, I'm not sure that it would've been that hard.
- Married life is wonderful because you have someone who is always there. Edward adores me and supports me (even when he doesn't quite understand me!), which already puts us way ahead of many other couples.
- I'm thankful that I have a husband so utterly dedicated to me and our marriage. Divorce is never an option to him and every hardship has the potential of bringing us closer.
- I'm glad that we are back in Tanzania. I'm glad that our children will be raised in this culture and not my own. I'm glad that Zeke will see what a healthy relationship looks like between his parents. I'm glad that we are on the same page with the most important things in life.
- My husband is incredibly sexy. Ok that is all!
With my favorite people...
We did it!
Signing the license & making it legal
Happily married...
I'm thankful we've gone through everything we have this past year, because it's made me confident that we will handle anything that comes our way. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with this man! xoxo

I'm so proud of you both for your love and commitment. What a beautiful couple, and beautiful family!:-) BiBi Zeke
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! You are seriously one of the best looking families ever :) Even though I've never met you in person, the happiness radiates through your faces in pictures.
ReplyDeleteMama, thanks so much! We love you.
ReplyDeleteBurgess, I feel like we already know each other through our emails and your hubby Zane (who is the best photographer ever, by the way). Maybe one day we'll finally meet here in Africa!
